- 1/4 Cup Soy Sauce
- 2 TBSP Worcestershire Sauce
- 2 TBSP Rock's Boom Boom Spice Blend (or Montreal Steak Rub)
Meat
- 1 Tri-tip Roast Steak (2-2.5 lb Cut)
Instructions
Preparation
- Place all the Marinade ingredients in a Zip Lock baggie, and mix together. After incorporating the wet and dry ingredients, place the Tri-tip Roast into the marinade.
- Depending on how much time you have, allow to marinade for 15 minutes or overnight.
Smoking
- Start by setting your Traeger Timberline 1300 to 180° F and preheat for about 15 minutes.
- When the smoker is up to temp, place your tri-tip directly on the grill grate and smoke for about 3 hours (feel free to use the super smoke feature for extra smoked taste).
- After 3 hours, remove the tri-tip and set your smoker to 275° F. While the smoker temp climbs, wrap the tri-tip tightly in aluminum foil.
- When the temp is at 275° F, place the wrapped tri-tip back on the smoker for another 45-90 minutes. The internal temp should reach 130° F.
- When it does, take your wrapped tri-tip off the grill and crank it up to 500° F.
- As your Traeger reaches 500° F, remove the tri-tip and sear both sides for 3-4 minutes.
- After searing, allow the tri-tip to rest for 10 minutes.
- When you are ready to serve, slice your tri-tip against the grain to serve to your family & friends!
